Arvid's 1st Sculpture! 20 ¾ x 8 ¼ diameter. 10 lbs
As a true artist, Arvid continuously challenges himself to work in new mediums, so it only follows that his creative talent would extend to the world of sculpture. Working with clay, Arvid creates the mold and casts the sculpture in resin. The sculpture is then hand embellished to capture the delicate beauty and detail of a wine stained cork.
Packaged in a handmade wooden case with the signature Arvid burn, the sculpture can be displayed as is or on the crafted wooden brackets on which it arrives.
Thomas started with a 40lb piece of clay and carved the relief of an actual cork. From the cross cut texture to the individual dimples, to the tapered edge (from the compression of the bottle neck) Arvid has the ability to capture what he sees in any medium he chooses. Thomas worked with the foundry to cast this piece in resin, so that it would weigh the approximate size of a cork that large. Each piece is hand-painted and packaged in a wooden wine crate handmade in Napa Valley.
